You can make a difference in the life of a child

General donations to Voices of Courage provide…

  • A safe place for a child to tell what happened.  The child will meet with one of our Forensic Interviewers who are trained to reduce that child’s trauma by safely gathering information needed for the investigators.
  • Support – every family experiencing trauma needs someone to guide them through ‘what happens next’.  Our Advocate provides that listening ear, help with referrals to needed services, and support throughout the process.
  • Therapy for the child provided by our Mental Health Professionals.  There is no cost to the family for this much needed service.
  • Prevention Programming – children and adults should know what abuse is, learn the signs and how to react and respond.  We can help with that.

You May Be Eligible for Tax Credits

Beginning in tax year 2025, you are allowed to help children in crisis through the Missouri Champion for Children Tax Credit. Your contribution is eligible for a 70% tax credit (effective January 1, 2025) which is more valuable than a tax deduction.

The Champion for Children (CFC) Tax Credit is offered by the State of Missouri to give back to those serving children in crisis. Voices of Courage Child Advocacy Center is one of the qualifying programs eligible to issue those credits.

Your contribution with a value of $100 or more is eligible for a tax credit of up to 70% of the amount of the qualifying donation, with a maximum credit of $50,000 per tax year.

Who can donate?

Any individual or corporation with a Missouri income tax liability who makes a financial contribution with a donation value of $100 or more to Voices of Courage Child Advocacy Center.

How does the tax credit work?

  • A tax credit, unlike a deduction, can be used regardless of whether you itemize or not, and is taken directly off your tax liability. For example, if you donate $1,000 to Voices of Courage, you would qualify for up to a $700 tax credit to be taken off of your state taxes.
  • Tax credits may be applied to the tax year in which the donation was made, or any portion of the tax credit not claimed may be carried over to the next four succeeding tax years.
  • As with most charitable donations, you may also claim a federal income tax deduction on the remaining donation amount after the Missouri state tax credit.

How do the tax credits get applied?

Make a donation to Voices of Courage either online or by direct mail before midnight on December 31.

For donations $100 or more, you will receive an acknowledgement letter and tax credit application form with instructions by the end of January.

There is no tax certificate number associated with this tax credit. Your tax preparer will leave that section blank.

You can read more about this tax credit program by visiting Champion for Children (CFC) Tax Credit, which is provided by the Missouri Department of Revenue. (as of December 1, 2025 they have not updated their website as to the newly passed 70% tax credit amount).

Tax credit benefits vary. Please consult your tax advisor to learn how tax credits would work best for you.

What can your donation provide for a child?

A donation of $250 provides an hour of therapy for a child.

A donation of $500 donated provides one forensic interview, allowing a child to safely disclose their abuse.

Or, your donation of $150 provides a family with an advocate who can help guide them through the system and connect them to community services.

All services are provided at NO COST to families.
