Advocacy services are designed to help reduce trauma for the child and the caregiver.
It’s ongoing support for the family.
Our Advocate is with you every step of the way
We know that children who are supported following a disclosure of abuse will feel and do better with support from their caregivers. The Child & Family Advocate can help you and your child deal with the aftermath of the trauma.
Families participate in follow-up services through our Advocate. Those services can include referrals for community support, assistance with navigating the criminal justice system and even crisis intervention services.
She can help with:
- Paperwork related to our services
- Referrals for therapy for your child, either at our CAC or help finding you the perfect fit for your child’s needs
- Information related to Crime Victims Compensation, when appropriate
- Connecting to other community services and resources where you live
- Information about the criminal justice system and court proceedings
- Educational materials related to trauma, parenting, etc.
- Follow up information after the forensic interview is complete
- Referrals to medical providers for exams your child may require
