Safety Protection and Healing
Voices of Courage is a nationally accredited child advocacy center (CAC) serving children and families throughout Northwest Missouri. We respond, along with members of our Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), to allegations of child sexual, physical and other types of abuse or trauma in any of the 9 counties we serve. Those counties include Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Clinton, DeKalb, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway and Worth counties.
The goal of Voices of Courage is to ensure that children who disclose abuse are not further victimized by the very system designed to protect them. Our services include: Forensic Interviews, Child Therapy, Child & Family Advocacy, Prevention Education and utilizing the Multi-Disciplinary Team approach to these cases. All services are free to the families we serve.
Conference - April 8
The 2025 Courage Conference is set forTuesday, April 8 at Grace Calvary Chapel. Our featured speakers include Russ Tuttle, President and Founder of the Stop Trafficking Project (morning session) and Melissa Perry, owner of Soul Yoga Counseling.
Russ will help professionals learn more about children and their online vulnerability. Though technology is not the enemy, it does need to be monitored and explored carefully.
Melissa will discuss vicarious trauma and how it can affect those of us who absorb the trauma of others as a part of our daily work life.
This conference is aimed at anyone working with children or other victims of crime or those experiencing trauma. The cost is $20 and the event runs 9AM to 4PM. Register here. POST and CEU’s pending.

Hosted by Voices of Courage and sponsored by Missouri Western State University

Children and youth face no greater place for their vulnerabilities to be exploited than through their online lives – social media, gaming and chat rooms. By addressing these vulnerabilities, we can disrupt the exploitation before it starts.
